Noestral Montureka
New lecture series on cinematography fundamentals — now open for enrolment
Video production learning program at Noestral Montureka
Video Production · Noestral Montureka

From Raw Footage to Finished Film

A structured program covering the full production pipeline — camera work, lighting setups, audio capture, editing rhythm, and color finishing. Each module builds on the previous, so skills compound rather than stay separate.

What the program covers

Six practical modules, each focused on a distinct phase of video production. No module assumes prior knowledge beyond what the previous one taught.

6 modules
48 hrs guided practice
  • 01

    Camera Fundamentals

Sensor size, aperture, shutter angle, ISO — explained through hands-on exercises rather than theory slides.

    • Exposure triangle in video context
    • Frame rates and motion blur
    • Lens selection for narrative shots
  • 02

    Lighting for Video

Natural and artificial light control. You will work with three-point setups, diffusion tools, and location scouting techniques.

    • Hard vs. soft light behaviour
    • Colour temperature matching
    • Low-budget lighting alternatives
  • 03

    Audio Capture

Bad audio breaks good footage. This module covers microphone placement, gain staging, and on-set monitoring discipline.

    • Lavalier vs. shotgun placement
    • Room acoustics and treatment
    • Sync sound workflow
  • 04

    Editing Structure

Cutting principles beyond timeline assembly — pacing, rhythm, emotional arc, and when to hold a shot versus cut away.

    • Continuity and match cuts
    • Music-driven vs. dialogue-driven cuts
    • Sequence finishing checklist
  • 05

    Colour Grading

Starting from log footage, you will go through primary correction, secondary masks, and look development using DaVinci Resolve.

    • Scopes and skin tone reference
    • Node-based grading logic
    • Export for web and broadcast
  • 06

    Delivery and Formats

Final output settings for different platforms — YouTube, Vimeo, broadcast specs, and client deliverable packages.

    • Codec and bitrate decisions
    • Metadata and file naming
    • Client review workflow

Who teaches this

Both instructors work in production regularly — they teach from current projects, not archived examples. Taras focuses on acquisition; Halyna covers the post-production chain from edit to grade.

  • 1
Active practitioners Both instructors take on client projects throughout the year — the curriculum reflects what actually gets used on set, not an idealised workflow.
  • 2
Small group format Sessions run with a cap of 12 participants so feedback is specific and pacing can adjust to the group's actual progress.
  • 3
Project-based assessment Instead of tests, you submit a short film at the end of each module. Feedback is written and detailed, not just a grade.
